Moe Joe Returns; New Bandmates

May 31, 2013

PPB Newswire: Friday May 31, 2013, The Pleasure Palace

Moe Joe Vak made a glorious return to the Pleasure Palace last week when he was in town for his daughter’s college graduation. Uncle Dicky set up two band sessions; Thursday the 23rd, and Friday the 24th for his return (but they usually play twice a week now anyway, so Moe Joe or No Show, the band was gonna play!). The old band plus The Rippah rocked the house on Thursday night, and all returned again Friday except for Bronkhorst Mitch and S-Bone who were replaced by the newest members of the band, Heavy Hands Heitz and Jazz Man Jonno. The “Younger Guys”, as we call them, The Rippah, Heavy Hands, and Jazz Man Jonno, played all night at Warp speed. They will clearly be the ones touring as the PPB in 10-20 years with Ol’ Uncle Dicky when the rest of the original members can’t get it up any more. But, they will have to pay for the naming rights! It will be kind of like watching Chicago on Palladia with one or two original members. The music is still great, but didn’t you really want to see Gary?

To commemorate this great occasion, the website has been updated with new PHOTOS, a modified ABOUT page, our new members added to the PLAYERS page, and a return of the Song(s) of the Week; five of them from the two sessions (Ohio, Friend of the Devil II, People Get Ready, Mary Jane’s Last Dance, and a first take of Stormy) that have also been added to the LISTEN section which now includes over 100 songs. Scroll down the page to see the Song(s) of the Week from last week’s Set Lists.

Let’s have a big round of applause to welcome the two newest members of the band; Heavy Hands Heitz, and Jazz Man Jonno. We hope you will enjoy the show!
