Southbound – The Rippah

January 13, 2012

A new song has been added to the website: Southbound, the Dicky Betts tune, with “The Rippah” on lead vocals, and lead guitar. Listen to “The Rippah” rip one out, and why he got his nickname!

BTW, did I tell you “That’s a Dickey Betts tune”, as Gregg Allman once famously said to me 20 times in a row, when I asked him if “Jessica” was originally named “Jessie’s Tune”, as “Cool One Joel” and I thought it was the very first time we heard it, and they played it, at the famous “Allman Brothers” concert, in Albany in 1973, just before “Brother’s and Sisters” came out, and their first concert after Berry Oakley died? Many of you know that famous funny story. And, if you do, you also know I never got the answer. Classic Greg Allman. Classic concert!
